西班牙警方表示，涉嫌在巴塞隆納駕駛廂型車衝撞攻擊，造成14死百餘傷的摩洛哥籍主嫌可能已經逃離西班牙，而他原本打算攻擊的目標，傳出是著名觀光地標聖家堂（Sagrada Familia）。
西班牙加泰隆尼亞自治區警方首長查比羅（Josep Lluis Trapero）在20日坦承，不知道22歲主嫌阿布雅庫（Younes Abouyaaqoub）在哪裡，恐怕已經逃離出境。
根據「西班牙人報」（El Espanol）報導，警方在恐怖分子在阿爾卡納爾鎮（Alcanar）的藏身處發現120多個瓦斯桶，這裡據信應該是製造炸彈的地方，他們原本打算炸毀聖家堂，不過在17日巴塞隆納攻擊前一天意外引爆一個爆裂物，造成1人死亡，這個失誤很可能迫使他們改變計畫。
報導指出，恐怖分子最後改用車輛發動攻擊，在遊客聚集的蘭布拉大道（Las Ramblas）上衝撞群眾，造成14人喪命，傷者達100人。恐怖分子原本打算攻擊聖家堂、蘭布拉大道和港口地區，若非意外引爆炸彈，可能發動更重大攻擊，造成更慘重傷亡。極端組織伊斯蘭國（IS）已宣稱犯案，這是他們首度在西班牙發動攻擊。
位於巴塞隆納的聖家堂，由西班牙傳奇建築家安東尼·高第（Antoni Gaudí）所設計，自1882年開始興建。一個多世紀以來，聖家堂依靠私人捐款和觀光遊客作為修建經費，傳聞每年花費2500萬歐元（約8.8億台幣）作修建，預計2025年完工。
動作片《東京喰種》29日在日本上映，導演萩原健太郎一早率領主要演員窪田正孝、鈴木伸之、大泉洋、村井國夫、櫻田日和、小笠原海、白石隼也等人現身戲院謝票，現場更分送原著作者石田翠，為其他演員所繪製的角色肖像畫。
旅遊便宜由於男主角窪田正孝曾在之前的活動中，獨得原著作者石田翠親筆繪製的角色肖像畫，讓大泉洋十分羨慕，所以這回原著作者便在百忙之中，「加碼」為所有演員都繪製角色肖像畫，讓終於收到畫的大泉洋興奮直呼：「天呀！太帥了吧！」甚至還語出驚人表示：「我現在掛掉的話，照片就幫我放這張，告別式讓真戶（角色名）去參加。」
適逢電影上映首日，最早的放映甚至從上午7點45分就開始。面對觀眾如此「透早」就來支持電影，大泉洋也害羞表示：「說到7點45分，大家正在看電影的時候，我那時候剛好在泡澡，是什麼都沒穿的狀態，我覺得這樣好像不太好...。」大泉洋一系列驚人發言也讓全場笑翻。
值得一提的是，《東京喰種》女主角清水富美加，在今年2月閃電退出演藝圈，為宗教團體「幸福科學」出家（法號「千眼美子」），也讓電影後續所有活動，都無法看見她的身影。但她在本片，擺脫過往千篇一律的喜劇表演方式，展現出身為喰種，必須對抗人類世界的憤怒與無奈，甚至把留了12年的長髮剪短30公分，也讓許多觀眾為此進戲院，欣賞她以「清水富美加」為名的電影演出絕響。
